Glad You’re Here
If you’ve ever been in the Green Room at a hole in the wall music venue, then you’ve heard the conversations that Grant Glad has with musicians every Wednesday on his podcast “Glad You’re Here”. Glad dives into the creative process with his guests, exploring the struggles and triumphs of taking the road less traveled and what it’s really like to be the only ones at Thanksgiving dinner who are still chasing a dream. Grant Glad is based in Duluth, MN and has interviewed guests such as Dan Murphy of Soul Asylum, Siri Undlin of Humbird and Ross Thorn (Winner of the Trampled by Turtles Palomino Grant in 2023).

This week I am joined by Wyatt Overman, owner of Overman Guitars.
Have you listened to Speyside by Bon Iver yet? If you have then you've heard the SixShot and SplitShot pickups designed and built by Wyatt and his team. They enable the player with the ability to isolate each string and send it to different channels. That's nerd speak to say: that's why that album sounds so cool.
So of course we talk about that, we talk about how Wyatt got into building guitars, consumerism, guitar guys and really anything else that pops in our heads.

Ross has a new album called "Fitting In" that is coming out August 8th, with a release show at Bent Paddle in Duluth with the Spine Stealers on August 6th. The album will not be available on Spotify, due to their CEO's decision to fund AI war machines, but can be found anywhere else you get music. And a slight correction from Kevin: "By the way, I went back and checked my math. I've only murdered 3200 blankets in my 18 years."
